Question
Where does Selection Logic apply well, and what are its limits?
Answer
Selection Logic applies best when:
- outcomes are partially observable (fit, regret),
- stakes justify structured evaluation,
- and iteration is possible.
It applies less well to pure lotteries and purely aesthetic choices with no stable preference structure.
Falsifiability
If repeated use of the method does not improve outcomes (controlling for confounds), the method should be revised or rejected.[^1]
